We, Child Advocacy Services, SEGA, Inc., (CASSEGA) publicly reaffirm our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity. We are here to serve you, our community, and we oppose and will speak out against exclusion, violence, trauma, and oppression, in particular, systemic racism and unconscious bias that harm African American families and families of Color. The killing of Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and too many other African Americans and People of Color cannot continue. We strengthen all families by advocating that children are cared for and raised in safe, healthy, and thriving homes and communities. Regrettably, African Americans and People of Colors’ community safety and justice has been compromised for far too long and must be delivered immediately.

Current racial inequities in the U.S. child welfare system are embedded in a historical legacy of white supremacy where all children are not treated equitably. Beyond child welfare, African American children and Children of Color face unacceptable disparities related to economics, education, and health. Despite the history of institutional racism, we speak out and advocate on behalf of just outcomes for all children. We will do our part to challenge institutional racism internal and external to our organization and with the children and families that it is our privilege to serve.

CASSEGA agrees with the recent statements made by our national associations National CASA/GAL Association and the Supervised Visitation Network (SVN)
